Billing & Renewals Specialist

Fully Remote (UK or EU) Permanent, Full-Time

Own the day-to-day billing that keeps our domain and hosting customers charged correctly and fairly — renewals, invoicing, payments, refunds and queries — handled with accuracy and the same customer-first care as the rest of the business.

Read the full job description

About the Role

Our Billing team keeps the commercial engine running and makes sure every customer is charged correctly, fairly and clearly.

You’ll own the day-to-day billing operations for our domain and hosting customers — renewals, invoicing, payments, refunds and the questions that come with them — combining careful accuracy with the same customer-first care as the rest of the business.

Billing questions can be stressful for customers, especially when a domain is about to expire or a payment has failed. We want someone who handles those moments with empathy and clarity, and who takes real ownership of getting them resolved.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage customer billing across domains, hosting, SSL, email and add-on services
  • Process renewals, invoices, payments, refunds, credits and pro-rata adjustments
  • Handle billing queries over email and chat with clarity, patience and empathy
  • Investigate and resolve failed payments, declined cards and dunning / retry cycles
  • Manage chargebacks and payment disputes, and liaise with payment providers
  • Reconcile transactions, subscriptions and registry / wholesale costs
  • Support pricing changes, promotions and multi-year renewals
  • Manage failed-renewal, grace and redemption communications for expiring domains
  • Follow account verification, fraud-prevention and security processes
  • Keep accurate billing records and clear documentation
  • Work closely with Customer Care, Technical Support and Finance to resolve account issues
  • Spot and escalate billing errors, revenue leakage and process gaps

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • Experience in billing, accounts, finance operations or a numerate, customer-facing role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
  • Excellent written and spoken English and a friendly, patient manner
  • Confidence handling sensitive billing conversations with empathy
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and billing or subscription systems
  • Good problem-solving and organisation, able to manage many queries at once
  • Discretion and care when handling customer and payment data
  • Reliable and comfortable working independently in a fully remote team
  • Someone who takes ownership of a problem rather than passing it along
Nice to Have

You don’t need all of this, but any of the following would be useful:

  • Experience in a domain registrar, hosting company, SaaS, ISP or other subscription business
  • Familiarity with recurring-billing platforms and payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, GoCardless and similar)
  • Understanding of chargebacks, PCI-DSS basics, VAT / tax and invoicing rules
  • Exposure to domain renewals, grace and redemption periods, and registry billing
  • Bookkeeping or accounting knowledge — reconciliation, ledgers and reporting
  • Experience with support or ticketing tools such as Zendesk
  • A basic understanding of domains, DNS or hosting

What Great Looks Like

Great billing is accurate and kind in equal measure. You’ll be someone who:

  • Gets the numbers right, first time, every time
  • Treats a worried customer with patience, not a canned response
  • Investigates a billing problem properly rather than simply reversing it and moving on
  • Protects both the customer and the business from avoidable errors and fraud
  • Keeps clear records so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Flags the patterns behind recurring billing issues so we can fix the cause

Working Hours

This is a full-time, permanent role, normally worked Monday to Friday.

As we support customers internationally, working patterns may vary depending on the team and region. Any occasional out-of-hours requirements will be made clear during the recruitment process, with enhanced compensation or allowances where applicable.

What We Offer

We want to build a team made up of genuinely exceptional people, and that means offering more than simply a salary. Our proposed benefits package includes:

  • 28 days of paid annual leave every year, plus local public holidays
  • Your local statutory holiday entitlement where this is greater
  • Your birthday off, fully paid, every year
  • Separate paid sick leave, so being unwell doesn’t eat into your holiday allowance
  • Additional paid wellbeing or personal days
  • Company-funded healthcare or private medical cover, appropriate to your country
  • Pension, provident fund or retirement contributions appropriate to your location
  • All statutory local employment benefits in addition to our company benefits
  • Company-provided laptop, headset and equipment required to do your job properly
  • Support towards your home internet or remote-working costs
  • Comprehensive paid onboarding and training
  • Ongoing training and development, plus an annual learning and professional development budget
  • Support towards relevant professional certifications
  • Enhanced parental, compassionate and bereavement leave
  • Regular salary and career development reviews
  • A genuinely remote-first working environment

Where local legislation provides a greater entitlement than our standard package, the greater local entitlement will always apply.

Career Development

This role can grow into Senior Billing, Finance Operations, Revenue or Payments specialisms, Customer Success or Team Leadership. We’ll support the direction that suits you.

A Final Word

If you’re precise with numbers, genuinely kind with people, and get satisfaction from turning a stressful billing moment into a reassuring one, we’d love to hear from you.

Tier 3 Support & Infrastructure Engineer

Fully Remote (UK or EU) Permanent, Full-Time

Our deepest technical tier and the people who keep the platform running: EPP integrations with registries, provisioning APIs, Linux and DNS infrastructure, automation and incident response. A hands-on backend and systems role.

Read the full job description

About the Role

Tier 3 is the deepest technical tier in the business — the final escalation point for Tier 2 and the people who keep our registrar and hosting platform running.

This is a hands-on backend and systems engineering role. You’ll work across our EPP integrations with domain registries, our provisioning APIs, and the Linux, DNS and hosting infrastructure that everything runs on.

You’ll resolve the hardest, most systemic customer-impacting issues, and — just as importantly — improve the platform so those issues don’t come back. It’s a role for someone who’s equally comfortable debugging a live incident and writing the automation that prevents the next one.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the final escalation point for complex, systemic or platform-level issues from Tier 2
  • Build and maintain EPP integrations with domain registries — provisioning, renewals, transfers and poll-message handling
  • Develop and support the internal and external APIs and automation behind domain and hosting provisioning
  • Administer Linux servers and our DNS infrastructure — authoritative and recursive, including DNSSEC signing and zone automation
  • Support the wider hosting stack — web servers, mail, databases and control panels
  • Lead incident response, perform root-cause analysis and write clear post-incident reviews
  • Improve observability, monitoring, alerting and capacity planning across the platform
  • Automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil through scripting and infrastructure-as-code
  • Work with registries, RDAP/WHOIS services and upstream providers on protocol-level issues
  • Uphold security, access control and change management, and support audits
  • Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2, and maintain strong engineering documentation

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • Strong Linux system administration experience
  • Solid scripting or programming skills for automation and integrations (e.g. Python, Bash; PHP or Go a plus)
  • Deep DNS knowledge including DNSSEC, authoritative and recursive resolution, and common software (BIND, PowerDNS or Knot)
  • A working understanding of the EPP protocol and the registry/registrar provisioning model
  • Experience building or consuming REST and/or XML APIs
  • Networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, SMTP
  • Incident response and root-cause analysis experience
  • Clear written communication and the ability to document systems well
  • Comfortable working in a remote, on-call-capable engineering team
Nice to Have

You won’t have all of this, but any of the following would stand out:

  • Hands-on EPP client or registry integration experience (e.g. Verisign, Nominet, CentralNic / Identity Digital)
  • RDAP / WHOIS implementation experience
  • Web hosting stack internals — cPanel/WHM, Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL, Exim/Dovecot
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible), containers and CI/CD
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Databases and confident SQL
  • Awareness of ICANN and registry policy and compliance requirements

What Great Looks Like

Great Tier 3 engineering is measured as much by what stops breaking as by what you fix. You’ll be someone who:

  • Digs to the true root cause and fixes the system, not just the symptom
  • Automates the repetitive and designs out recurring failure
  • Stays calm and methodical during incidents and communicates clearly
  • Writes documentation and runbooks the rest of the team can rely on
  • Balances long-term platform health with the customer waiting right now
  • Raises the technical bar for Tier 1 and Tier 2 around them

Working Hours

This is a full-time, permanent role, normally worked Monday to Friday.

As we run a platform customers depend on around the clock, this role participates in an on-call rota for platform incidents. On-call and any out-of-hours work is compensated in accordance with company policy and local employment requirements, and rota expectations will be made clear during the recruitment process.

  • Comprehensive paid onboarding and technical training
  • Ongoing training and development, plus an annual learning and professional development budget
  • Support towards relevant professional or technical certifications
  • Enhanced parental, compassionate and bereavement leave
  • Regular salary and career development reviews
  • A genuinely remote-first working environment

Where local legislation provides a greater entitlement than our standard package, the greater local entitlement will always apply.

Career Development

This role opens paths into Senior or Lead Engineering, Site Reliability and Platform Engineering, Domain Operations and technical leadership. We’ll support the depth or breadth you want to build.

A Final Word

If you like owning hard technical problems end to end, take satisfaction in a platform that just works, and want your fixes to outlast the ticket that prompted them, we’d love to hear from you.

Tier 2 Technical Support Representative

Fully Remote (India, Philippines or EU) Full-Time · 40 hrs/week

The escalation point for our Tier 1 team — you’ll take on the deeper domain, DNS, hosting, SSL and email issues that need real investigation: transfers, DNSSEC, mail-flow and more. Solid domains and DNS knowledge expected.

Read the full job description

About the Role

Our Tier 2 Technical Support team is where the more involved problems land — the tickets that can’t be answered from a script and need genuine investigation.

You’ll be the escalation point for our Tier 1 Customer Care team, taking ownership of deeper domain, DNS, hosting, SSL and email issues, resolving them properly, and helping Tier 1 grow along the way.

This role suits someone who already understands how domains, DNS and hosting fit together, enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem, and knows when an issue genuinely needs Tier 3, Engineering or the registry.

As with every role here, attitude matters as much as knowledge. We want people who take ownership, communicate clearly and care about the customer’s outcome — not just closing the ticket.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own technical escalations from Tier 1 across domains, DNS, hosting, SSL and email
  • Diagnose DNS issues in depth — propagation, nameserver delegation, DNSSEC and DS records
  • Troubleshoot mail flow and deliverability — MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and common email problems
  • Manage inbound and outbound domain transfers, auth/EPP codes, registrar locks and transfer disputes
  • Handle registrant contact changes, WHOIS/RDAP data and verification requirements
  • Investigate hosting issues — cPanel, web server errors, databases, and SSL/TLS installation and renewal
  • Reproduce faults and raise clear, well-documented reports to Tier 3 and Engineering
  • Liaise with registries and upstream providers where an issue sits beyond our platform
  • Keep customers informed and in safe hands while their issue is being worked
  • Maintain and improve internal runbooks and the customer knowledge base
  • Support and coach Tier 1 colleagues, and feed recurring issues back into training
  • Uphold account security, customer verification and change-control processes

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • Solid hands-on experience supporting domains, DNS and web hosting
  • Confident troubleshooting DNS record types — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA — and a working understanding of DNSSEC
  • A good grasp of the registrar/registry model, the domain lifecycle, transfers and EPP/auth codes
  • Experience with cPanel or a similar hosting control panel
  • SSL/TLS certificate installation and troubleshooting
  • Email deliverability fundamentals (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX)
  • Excellent written and spoken English and a calm, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to explain technical detail clearly to non-technical customers
  • Comfortable owning complex tickets end to end in a fully remote team
  • Someone who takes ownership rather than passing problems along
Nice to Have

You don’t need all of this, but any of the following would be useful:

  • WHOIS / RDAP and a working awareness of ICANN policy
  • gTLD and ccTLD specifics, and registry-specific rules
  • Comfort on the Linux command line (dig, whois, openssl, curl)
  • WordPress troubleshooting
  • Experience with Zendesk or a similar ticketing platform
  • Previous experience within a registrar, hosting company, ISP or other technology business

What Great Looks Like

Great Tier 2 support is about getting to the real root of a problem and making sure it’s genuinely fixed — not just deflected. You’ll be someone who:

  • Investigates properly and looks beyond the obvious symptom
  • Takes ownership of an escalation and sees it through
  • Documents findings clearly so the next person doesn’t start from scratch
  • Knows when to escalate to Tier 3, Engineering or the registry, with the right information attached
  • Makes Tier 1 better by sharing knowledge generously
  • Keeps the customer informed and reassured throughout

Working Hours

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, normally worked across five days.

As we support customers internationally, working patterns may vary depending on the team and region. Any shift, weekend or out-of-hours requirements will be made clear during the recruitment process, with enhanced compensation or allowances for unsociable shifts where applicable.

  • Comprehensive paid onboarding and technical training
  • Ongoing training and development, plus an annual learning and professional development budget
  • Support towards relevant professional or technical certifications
  • Enhanced parental, compassionate and bereavement leave
  • Regular salary and career development reviews
  • A genuinely remote-first working environment

Where local legislation provides a greater entitlement than our standard package, the greater local entitlement will always apply.

Career Development

Tier 2 is a natural stepping stone. We’ll actively support development into areas such as Tier 3 Technical Support, Domain Operations, Hosting & Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Training, Customer Success and Team Leadership — or deeper technical specialisation if that’s where your interests lie.

A Final Word

If you enjoy untangling technical problems, take pride in a proper fix, and believe great support means leaving the customer better off than you found them, we’d love to hear from you.

Tier 1 Customer Care Representative

Fully Remote (India, Philippines or EU) Full-Time · 40 hrs/week

Be the first person our domain, DNS and web hosting customers speak to — over live chat, email and occasionally phone — owning problems end to end and delivering genuinely exceptional care. Technical background helpful but not essential; full training provided.

Read the full job description

About the Role

We’re looking for brilliant people to join our Customer Care team as a Tier 1 Customer Care Representative.

You’ll be one of the first people our customers speak to when they need help, whether that’s over live chat, email or occasionally by phone.

Technical experience with domain names, DNS and web hosting would be a big advantage, but it isn’t essential. We’ll provide comprehensive training and give you the tools, knowledge and support you need to become confident in the role.

What matters most to us is your attitude.

We want people who genuinely enjoy helping customers, take ownership of problems and are prepared to go that little bit further to deliver an exceptional experience.

We don’t want customers passed from person to person unnecessarily. If you can solve something, we want you to own it, solve it and make sure the customer walks away feeling that someone genuinely cared about their problem.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our Tier 1 Customer Care team, you’ll:

  • Support customers through live chat, email and voice
  • Help customers with domain name registrations, renewals, transfers and general account queries
  • Assist with common DNS queries including nameservers, A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT records
  • Troubleshoot basic website, hosting, SSL, DNS and email-related issues
  • Help customers navigate our platforms and services
  • Investigate issues properly rather than simply providing scripted responses
  • Take ownership of customer problems and see them through wherever possible
  • Identify when something needs specialist or Tier 2 assistance and escalate it with clear, useful information
  • Keep customers informed while their issue is being investigated
  • Maintain accurate notes and records of customer interactions
  • Follow account security and customer verification processes
  • Contribute to internal documentation and our customer knowledge base
  • Share recurring customer problems and feedback with the wider business
  • Work with colleagues across Customer Care, Technical Support, Engineering, Billing and other teams when required

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong written communication skills with excellent spelling and grammar
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer care
  • A friendly, patient and empathetic approach
  • The ability to explain things clearly without unnecessary technical jargon
  • A willingness to go above and beyond when helping customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Comfortable communicating with customers through chat, email and telephone
  • Able to learn new systems and technical concepts quickly
  • Reliable, organised and comfortable managing multiple customer conversations or requests
  • Someone who takes ownership rather than simply passing problems elsewhere
Nice to Have

You don’t need to know all of this before joining us, but experience in any of the following would be useful:

  • Domain names
  • Domain registrations, renewals and transfers
  • gTLDs and ccTLDs
  • DNS and nameservers
  • DNS records such as A, CNAME, MX and TXT
  • WHOIS / RDAP
  • Basic web hosting
  • cPanel or similar hosting control panels
  • SSL certificates
  • Basic email troubleshooting
  • WordPress
  • Customer support or ticketing platforms such as Zendesk
  • Previous experience within a hosting company, registrar, SaaS provider, ISP or other technology business

Don’t tick every technical box? Please still apply. We’re much more interested in finding people with the right attitude, communication skills and desire to learn. Full technical and product training will be provided.

What Great Looks Like

For us, great Customer Care isn’t about getting customers off chat as quickly as possible. It’s about understanding what they’re actually trying to achieve and helping them get there.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Treats every customer like a person, not a ticket number
  • Takes ownership of problems
  • Asks good questions
  • Looks beyond the obvious answer
  • Keeps customers updated
  • Explains technical subjects simply
  • Knows when to ask for help
  • Learns from mistakes
  • Shares knowledge with the rest of the team
  • Cares about quality as much as speed

We’ll measure performance across areas such as customer satisfaction, quality, response times, resolution, productivity and reliability, but we never want hitting a metric to come at the expense of doing the right thing for a customer.

Working Hours

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, normally worked across five days.

As we support customers internationally, working patterns may vary depending on the team and region. Any shift, weekend or out-of-hours requirements will be made clear during the recruitment process.

Where applicable, enhanced compensation or allowances for overnight or unsociable shifts will be provided in accordance with company policy and local employment requirements.

What We Offer

We want to build a Customer Care team made up of genuinely exceptional people, and that means offering more than simply a salary.

  • Comprehensive paid onboarding and technical training
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Annual learning and professional development budget
  • Support towards relevant professional or technical certifications
  • Enhanced parental, compassionate and bereavement leave
  • Regular salary and career development reviews
  • Opportunities to progress into Tier 2 Support, Technical Support, Domains, Hosting, Customer Success, Quality, Training or Team Leadership
  • A genuinely remote-first working environment

Where local legislation provides a greater entitlement than our standard package, the greater local entitlement will always apply.

Career Development

We don’t see Tier 1 Customer Care as a dead-end role.

You’ll receive structured training covering domain names, DNS, hosting and our wider product portfolio, with opportunities to develop deeper technical knowledge over time.

For people who want to progress, we’ll actively support development into areas such as Tier 2 Technical Support, Domain Operations, Hosting & Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Training, Customer Success and Team Leadership.

Equally, if you simply love looking after customers and want to become exceptionally good at it, that’s a career path we value too.

A Final Word

You don’t need to be a domain name expert before you join us. We can teach you about DNS, domains, hosting and our systems.

What is much harder to teach is empathy, curiosity, ownership and a genuine desire to help people.

If you’re the sort of person who gets satisfaction from turning a frustrated customer into a happy one, enjoys solving problems and believes great customer service means doing a little more than the customer expected, we’d love to hear from you.
